RTL-Westcan Employees Serve Up Generosity For Christmas

Edmonton, AB – Employees of the RTL-Westcan Group of Companies donated a total of 1837 food items, $1,869 and 219 volunteer hours to non-profit organizations in their communities this holiday season. The contributions were made as part of RTL-Westcan’s “Dinner For Christmas Challenge”, the sixth installment in their increasingly successful Well Workplace series.
The Challenge, held during the month of November, encouraged employees to donate food, money or volunteer hours to local non-profit organizations that provide healthy meals to those in need. With all donations earning points, employees, divided into teams by location, competed to raise the most points per capita. The team at Westcan’s Moose Jaw Terminal, motivated by two employees who offered to shave their heads if the goal of 1,000 points was reached, won the Challenge with a total of 1,094 points and each claimed a $20 grocery gift card prize. All Challenge participants took home a limited-edition Christmas ornament as a thank-you for their contributions to the community.
